No Quarter Lays a Dud on Michelle Obama's "Whitey"

So, it's after 9:00 am Monday and I'm waiting (Breathlessly!) for the dirt Larry Johnson at No Quarter has promised to reveal...

At 9:00 am I (Breathlessly!) try to log onto No Quarter. His servers must have been fried with all the attention cause it is a SLOOOOWW load.

And then I'm on, and there it is, as promised, a big entry on the Michelle Obama "Whitey" video! Yes! Someone lit the fuse! I excitedly start reading...

I learned over the weekend why the Republicans who have seen the tape of Michelle Obama ranting about “whitey” describe it as “STUNNING.”

Yeah Yeah Yeah Keep Going... I'm BREATHLESS.

I have not seen it but I have heard from five separate sources who have spoken directly with people who have seen the tape. It features Michelle Obama and Louis Farrakhan. They are sitting on a panel at Jeremiah Wright’s Church when Michelle makes her intemperate remarks.

Ok, we get it, ties to Nation of Islam, Farrakhan and all that. Yeah, we know. Senator Obama is tied to extremists like nobody's business. Got it.

When that image comes out it will enter the politcal ads hall of fame. It will be right up there with the little girl plucking daisy petals in the famous 1964 ad LBJ used against Barry Goldwater.

Uhh...

Is that all there is?

No hard data about who has the video?

Implications and innuendo?

And the gig will be up when the Michelle tape hits the airwaves. One source described how this tape was acquired. Let’s just say that one of the republican candidates who is no longer in the race, but had a dandy oppo research capability, uncovered this gem. If Republican poohbahs have their way the tape will remain on ice until October. But when it comes out, Barack will be permanently branded with the Nation of Islam. That’s not a winning platform in November. And Barack’s bundlers understand this threat. I also have learned some major financial backers are asking the Barack team about the tape and are being stonewalled. It is a wild card in the political campaign that has not yet played out.

Who is the former GOP candidate? Who are the financial backers? Without those facts this is nothing more than what others have talked about before.

Wait a minute, you said yesterday:

New and dramatic developments. This is a heads up. I’ll post the news Monday morning by 0900 hours. Now I know why people who have seen the videotape say it is stunning. Barack’s headaches are only starting.

And then you give us your opinion about what MAY be and what is RUMORED? Why not just tell us the rumors yesterday and save the drama for real facts?

Wow. Those sure are “new and dramatic developments”, Larry. Are you sure it’s just Michelle and Farrakhan on stage at Trinity? I heard from MY unnamed republican sources that the guest list also included Bill Ayes, O.J. and Ahmadinejad too. Oh, and a cryogenically frozen Huey Newton burning an effigy of Geraldine Ferraro while stomping on the 19th amendment. That’s the rumor, at least. Pass it on!

This was serious put up or shut up time for you credibility and the best you can come up with is that you talked to people who talked to people who have seen the tape?

And now you throw in the Farrakhan angle. Would that not have been an important point to add in all the other posts you have made about this tape?

And there you have it folks. 2 Lines about the tape that will never ever come out or materialize, 4 more paragraphs filled with nothing but innuendo, one sentence that mentions manages to mention and connect Farrakhan, Pflger, and Wright, and the continuation of a whisper campaign against Barack Obama.

How was this nut job ever allowed to write for the Huffington Post?

What a waste of time. All this talk about unnamed sources who know other unnamed sources who have seen the tape makes me believe it is just fear mongering. If we’re going to defeat Barack, it’s going to have to be by other means.

Not only does the fuse remain unlit, there is no evidence of a bomb at all.

[Update] To work through the rumors and see how they might have transpired, see these blog entries; Mike Francesa (Hey, aren't you the sports dude?) and then Booman Tribune. The Booman item was written last night and the Francesa item this morning. Larry Johnson hasn't offered the phrases that are the basis of the Francesa rumor that I know of.

What a mess.
